National Young Leaders Program Announces Continuation of Support from RBC Future Launch
Launched in 2015, the National Young Leaders Program provides young people living with vision loss the resources they need to build professional networks and advance their careers. It’s an initiative that requires strong partnerships to ensure it can impact as many lives as possible.
Given this, we are thrilled to announce the continuation of support for the National Young Leaders Program from RBC Future Launch, which is made possible by a donation from the RBC Foundation. RBC Future Launch is committed to supporting projects that help young people attain work experience, grow their networks, and develop skills that equip them for Canada’s challenging job market. The National Young Leaders Program aligns perfectly with that set of objectives, which are even more valuable in relation to vision loss: for example, we know that vision loss can hinder career development for far too many young Canadians.
With strong support from RBC Future Launch in 2019, we’re looking forward to bringing the National Young Leaders Program to more participants than ever. In past years, the program has been oriented around an in-person summit held in Toronto (you can read about the 2018 summit here). In 2019, we will hold three Summits: in Toronto, Vancouver, and Halifax. By expanding the in-person aspect of the program, we’ll be able to grow the Young Leaders community and connect directly with more young people with vision loss. This expansion will be steered by our participant co-chairs, Samantha Moore and Patrick Losier, who you can read about here.
Stay tuned to fightingblindness.ca for more details on the Summits, including instructions for registering. If you would like to be a part of the Young Leaders Program, please contact Chad Andrews at candrews@fightingblindness.ca or at 1-800-461-3331.
